With most hydronic systems being older, some key maintenance issues are often overlooked. Rad valves are often forgotten and these little devices can cause a world of problems, the worst of which includes flooding your home. Older valves, especially if used will often develop a leak at the valve stem. The valve itself is made of brass and will seldom show signs of deterioration, the riser below will slowly begin to deteriorate until you have a leak. So it’s a wise idea to check and replace your valves, before it becomes a costly repair. It’s also nice to have a valve that works!
